Problem with the US Post Office

I recently I had a strange issue with the post office. I had a PO BOX at one of those Post Box places you see in shopping centers. I recently moved, so I had to forward my mail and USPS didn’t want to do this, and the way they went about it was nice… I didn’t get some phone call telling me “Mr. Asher, hey you can’t do this.” No… how I find out is by waiting for three weeks for my mail to show up and wonder what the hell is going on! Up until now, the only excuse was this, “all the mail goes into one box, therefore, we can’t dig in and sort it.” Well… That should make easier for you guys. Something else that was funny, they pointed out a few times, if I would have used their post office boxes they can forward it. I thought that was strange. All the time they seemed kind of resentful towards the competing P.O. box services. Trying to sort this issue out I made about five phone calls and all the people I talked to had a different excuse as to why the mail wasn’t being forwarded, that’s what made this hard to believe. I mean, mail is mail, I am not buying the box thing.

In a unrelated story that I uncovered reading about “how to complain to the USPS”, I found out the post office is closing 1000 locations. I guess the post office is just not that useful anymore.
